Appeal Court constitutes 99 Panels for 2023 Election Petition Tribunal - President, Appeal Court.

The President of the Appeal Court, Justice Dongban Mensem has disclosed that the 2023 Election Petition Tribunal was a tough and tedious process for the court.

Speaking in Abuja at the opening session of the Judges and Justices workshop on the Review of the 2023 Election Petition Tribunal in Abuja, Justice Mensem said a total of 99 panel were set up with three Judges in each court.

GALAXY TV reports that the President of the Appeal Court added that virtually all the offices contested for in the 2023 General Elections were challenged in the court, making it a tedious process for the Judges and the court.

While speaking on the essence of the Review workshop, Justice Mensem stated that it was meant to correct some of the errors and lapses discovered during the process and make the electoral system more vibrant.

While commending the commending the international Observers for their commitment towards electoral success in Nigeria, the President of the Appeal Court said, then court would reserve its findings for observers to make their position known on the exercise.

In their Separate remarks at the event, the Attorney General and Minister of Justice, Lateef Fagbemi (SAN) and the Chief Justice of Nigeria, Justice Olukayode Ariwoola, commended the Appeal for its Dungeness towards promoting the course of Justice in the land.

They stressed the need for the court to continue to look inward and improve its operations towards ensuring Justice for common man.
