FG Targets 2 Million Nigerians on Cash Transfer

The Federal Government of Nigeria says it is targeting two million Nigerians on its Conditional Cash Transfer in order to help the youths of the country out of poverty.

This was disclosed by the National Programme Coordinator of National Cash Transfer Halima Shehu while explaining the essence of the program which is targeting only the poor and vulnerable households who fall below the absolute poverty line.

According to her, they are conscious that poverty and hunger are high and prevalent among the rural dwellers especially female-headed households with poor sources of income in Nigeria.

She, however, said that the enrollment process provides a secured electronic platform for an end to end transfer, tracking and reconciliation of benefits to ensure accountability and transparency.

Some of the beneficiaries applauded the giant strides of President Buhari for bringing such initiatives that will give youths the ability to be self-reliant in the country
