Ogun Monarch Withdraws Chieftaincy Appointment, Installation of Okorocha

The Eselu of Iselu kingdom in Yewa North local government area of Ogun State, Oba Ebenezer Akinyemi, has withdrawn the appointment of Senator Rochas Okorocha, as Otunba Asoludero of Iselu Kingdom.

Oba Akinyemi, in a copy of a letter, addressed to the former governor of Imo State and made available to newsmen in Abeokuta, the Ogun State capital, did not disclose in specific terms why the title was being withdrawn.

The monarch stated that the withdrawal and the cancellation of the installation ceremony were not done out of hatred for Okorocha, but was done in the interest of peace and harmony, appealing to the lawmaker to "accept the development as “an act of God

The installation based on Okorocha’s acceptance letter for the title was earlier scheduled to hold on September 19, 2021.

The traditional ruler advised Okorocha to keep assisting the needy through his foundation and also not hesitate to help in developing Iselu community and Nigeria in general.
