Ondo Kingdom Celebrates Ekimogun Festival

Indigenes of Ondo kingdom, Home and abroad have been advised to continue to contribute to the socio-economic development of their land and Nigeria at large.

A cross-section of speakers at the 2020 Ekimogun day held at the Oba Akinsanoye Civic Center in Ondo town hailed the contribution of the kingdom to the economic development of the country.

It was a gathering of who is who in Ondo kingdom at the Oba Akinsanoye Civic Center as indigenes of the land converge for the 2020 Ekimogun festival.

The annual gathering, a reunion sort of according to the organisers, provide an opportunity for the indigenes to meet and contribute meaningfully to the socio-economic development of Ondo kingdom.

In his remark, the Chairman, Ondo Development Committee and the Aro of Ondo kingdom, Chief Akinwolemiwa and the Chairman of the occasion, Chief Abdulrazak Famiditimu thanked God for making this year celebration a reality despite the economic downturn, the outbreak of Covid 19 and the endears protest.

They maintained that the kingdom will continue to progress and move forward while they appealed to indigenes not to relent in their quest for a better community

In her remark, Hon. Justice Helen Ogunwumiju commended the initiative of the organisers adding that the people of Ondo kingdom are known for great things. On his part, Governor Rotimi Akeredolu who was represented at the event by his commissioner for Health, Dr Jibayo Adeyeye thanked the people of the kingdom for their support during the last Governorship election adding that he will make use of the opportunity to develop the kingdom and other parts of the state.

Addressing the gathering, the Osemawe of Ondo kingdom his Imperial Majesty, Oba Victor Kiladejo appreciated the contribution of indigenes. of the kingdom both at home and in the diaspora adding that they should not relent in their efforts.

The highpoint of the celebration was the presentation of awards to deserving indigenes of the kingdom as well as a presentation of Prizes to public schools that participated in the quiz, essay competitions as well as cultural dance.
