Orosanye's Report: Zulum Asks President To Make Army University Conventional Institution

Borno state governor, babagana zulum, says the proposed merger of the Army University with the Nigerian defence academy will negate government efforts at mitigating the rate of out of school children in the state.

Governor zulum gave the indication while fielding questions from journalists after a meeting with president bola Ahmed Tinubu at the state house, Abuja, Friday. Stating that the merger plan was a good step to saving cost of governance in the country, the governor maintained that the army university should be made a conventional institution instead of being merged with another.

The governor maintained that merging the school, which is already encouraging education and boosting activities in southern borno will starve the area of adequate educational environment for his citizens. He said his government will come up with a comprehensive report on the matter and present the same to the president for further actions.

Recall that the federal executive council had on the twenty six of february, 2024 implemented recommendation of the stephen orosanye’s report which suggested merging and scrapping of some government agencies.
