TETFund tasks State Governments on Technical Training for Teachers

The Executive Secretary of the Tertiary Education Trust Fund, Arc Sonny Echono, has stressed the importance technical training and innovation for Teachers in Nigeria.

Speaking in Abuja during a visit to the TETFund Secretary by the Bauchi State Governor, Bala Mohammed, Arc. Echono said this is necessary to address to address challenges associated with technological advancement.

Galaxy Tv reports that the TETFund Boss emphasized the need for State Governments in Nigeria to focus of producing more teachers and technicians to meet up with the National demands.
He lauded the efforts of the Bauchi State Government for investing in the education sector, while he pledged the support of TETFund for the newly established college of Education and efforts to train teachers on technical manpower.

Earlier, the Bauchi State Governor had solicited support from the Tertiary Education Trust Fund, (TETFund) for its state-owned institutions to train technical manpower in agriculture, oil and gas and other fields critical to national development.

While emphasizing the importance of human capital development in confronting challenges of underdevelopment, poverty, and unemployment, the Governor noted that the state requires support for its newly-established College of Education, Technical, as well as intervention on vocational training, where artisans: craftsmen, bricklayers and welders will be trained.
