Senate Gives Update On 2024 Appropriation Bill

The Senate has again restated its determination to pass the 2024 appropriation presented to it by President Bola Tinubu in due time.

Recall that immediately the President Presented the appropriation bill, the two Chambers of the National Assembly swung into action on while the bill is now at committee level.

Speaking with Correspondent Kunle Ojo in Abuja, the Chairman Senate Committee on Information, Senator Yemi Adaramodu, says work is in progress on the bill and that various Ministries, Departments and Agencies have been defending their budgets before various committees both the thr Senate and House of Representatives.
Not only that, Adaramodu confirmed that some of the Committees have been turning in their reports to the Appropriation Committee for the next line of action.

Senator Yemi Adaramodu, Chairman Senate Committee on Information, declared the readiness of the National Assembly to ensure judicious use of all funds appropriated in the budget adding that, this would be done through effective oversight functions by various committees of the National Assembly.
He also enjoined Nigerians not to be docile but should speak out where necessary, in order to make sure that funds allocated for projects are used accordingly.

It is being hope that the budget will be passed before the National Assembly embark on its Christmas break.
